An international mining house with a large portfolio of producing coal mines in the Bowen Basin is seeking to expand their mining operations team with the appointment of a Gas Drainage Engineer based in a residential town of Glenden which is 165km west of Mackay.

You will be responsible to ensure that gas drainage practices on-site are consistent with best practice and statutory requirements. You will monitor and review gas drainage activities to minimise any adverse environmental impacts and also ensure that gas drainage activities do not impact on site operations to ensure key production targets are achieved.

You will achieve this by showing leadership, forecasting and reviewing operational results and drive the development of annual gas drainage budgets and performance reporting. Another key aspect will be focused on continuous improvement of gas drainage processes and systems through implementing new technology and aligning initiatives to improve operational results.
