Nestled in some of the most scenic landscape in WA, Paraburdoo is a close-knit community offering a safe and friendly environment.   The town has a population of around 2,000 people and has a strong sporting community with an abundance of facilities. The airport is located only 15 minutes from Paraburdoo. This position will provide you with an opportunity to satisfy your desire to be innovative and apply your business acumen. You will provide technical engineering support to address issues affecting fixed plant capability, reliability and operating costs; manage Electrical Capital projects to ensure timely completion and cost effectiveness; and undertake plant control optimisation and identify opportunities to enable the organisation to achieve and excel production goals. Career development and key responsibilities include:

• Maintaining and managing the Process Control System
• Providing technical support to Operations and Maintenance personnel
• Programming and fault diagnosis of Modicon PLC's and Citect SCADA systems; Equipment failure investigation and mitigation using RCA (Taproot) Investigation Outcomes
• Maintenance and installation design of 415V MCC's, VSD's and 3.3kV switchgear
• Electrical Design and commissioning
• Supervision of contractors and consultants
• Implementation of process improvement projects
• Flexibility with roster for call outs when required

Ideally, you will also have a proven capability in achieving and sustaining technical improvements; experience in the mining sector or related industry and a good knowledge of the Statutory Authority Requirements and Australian Standards. A degree in Electrical Engineering coupled with experience in industrial plant engineering will see you progress forward for this opportunity within Rio Tinto.
