A Vancouver-based producer is looking to add a Chief Engineer to manage the ongoing operations at the mine and the associated properties. This person will have key input into the mining operations and growing resources and be in a leadership role in the engineering, design, construction, commissioning and operation of the mine and other developments. Responsibilities include controlling costs and maximizing profitability of all aspects of the development and operation and implementing the best management practices and cost control methods.
The successful candidate will have 10+ years in an operating mine environment. Strong knowledge of mine planning, reserve estimation, production scheduling, waste handling and operational planning is important. A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent and registration as a Professional Engineer or eligibility is required. The ability to operate one or more of the common mine planning software products is important.
This is a rotational position with a good schedule to a mine site in the Yukon, Canada. The company offers assistance from the home base to the rotation staging locations depending on the candidate’s situation.
