Our client is an Australian mid tier mining Company with projects spread across Australia.

They are looking for a Senior Underground Mine Planning Engineer for their operations.

There is the flexibility with this role to be based in Perth, or on the east coast of Australia in Townsville or Sydney.

The successful candidate would be required to undertake site visits on a regular basis.

Responsibilities for the position

 

• Provide mine plans and reserve updates
• Medium and long term mine schedules
• Mining studies for additional resources
• Work with geologists to ensure resource definition drilling is incorporated into mine schedules
• Continuous improvement in the mine planning processes
• Liaise with other departments to ensure planning is integrated into the operation
• Mentor other junioe mining engineers on site

Requirements for the position

• Degree qualified mining engineer
• 5+ years experience in an underground mining environment
• Demonstrated ability to work within a busy team environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Working knowledge of mine design software
