Work with a couple of WA accredited auditors. Although always key players in the WA contam sites market (and nationally in fact) their profile has grown over the last 18 months. Adding another auditor, winning some key projects locally and up north, and partnering with some key mining clients. Apart from the auditing strengths, the other focus of the team is remedial design and implementation. Less of the pre-designed routine petrochem sites, or smaller assessment projects – more of the innovative planning and unique situations.

Above and beyond developing your technical skills and exposure to the industry, look at the progression opportunities over the next few years. You will need to bring at least 5 years experience in contaminated sites, to show a strong foundational understanding. PM and senior level roles exist, so you can slot in where your experience warrents.
