Knight Piesold Consulting, an international company providing engineering and environmental services for the mining, power, water, transportation and construction sectors, is seeking a Senior Project Manager / Technical Lead with extensive experience in the mining industry for our Tucson AZ practice. This position is a lead technical role and is well suited to a self-starting individual with strong ambitions for senior management. You would be working with an engineering firm that has celebrated tremendous business success at a time when many other consulting firms are struggling.
Job Responsibilities: This person will have the responsibilities of participating in, directing, managing and performing project work on behalf of the Knight Piesold USA practice.
The work consists of consulting civil and geotechnical engineering and environmental services for mining, municipality and private clients, and includes project planning, design, construction supervision and operational assistance to clients. This person will play a senior-level engineering role, provide technical direction and manage staff and other resources.
Job Qualifications:
Strong working knowledge of, and at least 10 to 12 years of experience in Civil/Geotechnical engineering experience in the mining consulting sector, with at least 4 years at a senior level.
Master's degree preferred in civil/geotechnical or civil/water resources engineering.
Professional Engineer (P.E.) Registration or eligibility to be registered in Arizona is required. A valid driver’s license is preferred.
Work will be in both an office and field environment with travel to various outdoor sites determined by project needs. Periodic travel will be required both within and outside of Arizona and the US; durations of travel are typically expected to be limited to 1-2 weeks at a time, although exceptions occur. Adherence to safety standards including those of the firm, MSHA, OSHA is mandatory.
