McArthur River Mining Pty Ltd operates a zinc-lead-silver mine in which 2.2 million tonnes of ore is extracted each year. McArthur River Mine is a Fly-in, Fly-out operation based from Darwin, located in the Gulf of Carpentaria region of the Northern Territory.

This position reports directly to the Mining Training Coordinator.

Roster: 8 days on, 6 days off

Key responsibilities of the role include:

• Provide the necessary training of personnel within the mining operations area to ensure safe and productive operating skills within the workforce
• Developing and training our mining operators
• Delivery of site specific and nationally accredited training packages
• Ensure best practice training methods within the mining department
• incident reporting and incident investigation

Expected qualifications include:

• Cert IV in Training and Assessment (TAA or TAE) is mandatory
• Cert IV in OH&S is desirable

Experience in the operation of excavators, dozers, graders, haul trucks, front end loaders and other surface mobile equipment is essential as well as experience with one-on-one and group training.
