This highly successful mining company with operations across the globe, is currently seeking an experienced Mine Manager to oversee its underground coal projects, based in their Brisbane head office. In this role you will ensure underground projects utilising Longwall Top Coal Caving (LTCC) are identified, evaluated and developed to allow the projects to be delivered on time safely, and within budget.

Responsibilies will include:

• Mining engineering and process support
• Mining engineering aspects of selection and definition studies to enable the evaluation and introduction of LTCC
• Overseeing the development of process and caving models and associated technologies
• Ensuring relevant engineering study deliverables are identified and managed
• Establishing and maintaining a close working relationship with relevant mine site engineering functions to ensure expectations are highly developed, understood and achieved

Skills and experience required:

• Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering (desirable but not essential)
• Experience working on longwall projects in an underground coal mine or other commodities accepted
• Major project experience ($1b+) plus liaising with top tier EPCM contractors
• Industry memberships and/or further qualifications relating to engineering i.e. statutory qualification, mine managers certificate, supervisory certificates etc
• Understanding and experience with process improvement
