Senior Construction Manager - EPCM

Due to our rapidly expanding business across our EPCM environment, we are looking for a highly experienced and dynamic Senior Construction Manager to provide key leadership in GHD's EPCM delivery team responsible for delivering a portfolio of major non-process infrastructure capital projects for a major client in the Mining Sector.

The main function of the role is to establish and provide construction management functional leadership throughout all phases(Selection Phase, Definition Phase and Execution Phase) for a multi-billion dollar portfolio of major projects.

  • Displays leadership in striving for the goal of zero harm for health, safety and environment.
    Ensure construction management processes are in place and complied with.

  • Direct the construction management team in coordinating contractors and sub contractors to ensure they carry out all construction activities in accordance with the Project Safety Management Plan, Project Environment Management Plan, project specification, drawings and other relevant documentation.

  • Understand approved scope of work and safely manage all tasks of work required to completion.

  • Ensure schedule and costs objectives, and project instructions are communicated to the construction management team.

  • Participate in manpower planning and budgeting for the construction team.


To be considered for this role, you should have the following qualifications / experience:

  • Minimum 15 years previous construction management experience, including substantial experience and proven performance track record as Construction Manager for greenfield and brownfield resource industry projects;

  • Extensive knowledge of all phases of construction operations relating to field activities of all engineering disciplines, construction and maintenance practices, procedures and techniques, and applicable codes and standards;


  • Experience in the buildings, buildings services and civil disciplines is important.  However experience in  Structural/Mechanical/Electrical/Process disciplines will also be highly regarded.


  • Well developed business and management principles related to strategic planning, resource allocation, production methods, leadership and coordination of people and resources;


  • Experience working under, and knowledge of Western Australian Mines Act and Regulations, and Western Australian OSH Act and Regulations. 


  • Engineering Degree or equivalent desirable.


  • Strong leadership skills, the ability to lead a team and fit into a team environment.


  • Understanding of client and relationship management.


  • Well developed communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills, including ability to communicate directly with the client on key issues.


  • Strong leadership skills, the ability to build high performance teams;
