Details: Our client, a leading base metals producer in Central Asia, is looking for a Project Director for their flagship mega project.
The operations will consist of open pit mining, along with an on site concentrator, utilizing conventional grinding and flotation treatment of ore.
The Project Director is accountable to the Director Projects and will lead the Owner managed activities for the development of the Project, and oversee the EPCM Contractor scope of work.
Key Accountabilities:
· Accountable for the delivery of the project into production by meeting safety, schedule, cost and design objectives;
· Advocate and ensure world-class safety standards for the project;
· Manage directly and via managers the multi-disciplinary EPC activities;
· Management of the Client’s own project team over multiple locations;
· Provide the necessary executive leadership to communicate and report Project objectives and progress to senior management.
ProfessionalQualities:
· Degree qualified in engineering disciplines;
· Mining project experience with 15+ years of projects expertise of a similar size $1.5 billion+;
· Proven ability and understanding of operations for project planning associated with all project phases of engineering design, procurement, construction & management for the successful delivery of programmes;
· Ability to perform effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities and achieve project deadlines;
· Self-motivated and capable of working with minimum direct supervision and adapting to changing circumstance;
· Leadership – strong leadership skills are required to marshal resources, lead the team and help drive the organisation towards a successful conclusion;
· Previous experience in an expatriate role, preferably in Central Asia;
