Our West Australian mining operations include the Koolyanobbing Project (consisting of the Koolyanobbing, Windarling and Mt Jackson mine-sites) located in the heart of the Goldfields providing lump and fine products to the international market, exported from our Port Operations in Esperance and the Cockatoo Island Project, a Joint Venture in the Kimberley. Currently we are seeking a Laboratory Technician Shift Leader who will be responsible for managing a team of technicians onsite at Koolyanobbing . Having several years experience as a supervisor you will guide the team in the effective reporting of accurate sample analysis results whilst also providing leadership to a panel of Laboratory Technicians.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• Manage performance and support professional development of the team
• Provide supervision and training to a panel of Laboratory Technicians to ensure adherence to laboratory policies and procedures
• Supervise the collection and preparation of samples for analysis
• Report accurate sample analysis results in a timely manner
• Ensure weekly panel production targets are met
• Complete daily equipment, area and vehicle inspections
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS:
• Team management skills with experience in performance management and supporting employee development
• Previous experience as a Laboratory Technician, within the mining industry
• Understanding of both laboratory and sample preparation work
• Sound knowledge of laboratory equipment, requirements and procedures
• Strong computer skills, in particular Microsoft Office Suite
• Valid Western Australian C class drivers licence
