Granny Smith mine site is seeking a Business Improvement Analyst to join their Business Improvement team. Reporting to the BI Superintendent, you will be required to lead a culture of Business Improvement by articulating and reinforcing the vision, strategy and principles associated with the Barrick Business Improvement program.
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Assist the BI superintendent with the coordination of Strategic Business Planning reviews, business improvement projects and change management initiatives.
- Monitor BI Systems and business processes
- Provide specialized knowledge and coaching to the mine site Senior Leadership Team & Business Improvement team
- Foster business improvement awareness throughout the mine site through education in problem solving tools and methodologies
- Ensure specific, measurable, appropriate KPIs are in place against which progress is regularly reviewed and monitored.
- Engage the workplace in new ideas that will improve the business
- Assist with monthly reporting
Requirements:
- Degree in a business-related or technical discipline and/or a strong trade background with appropriate experience. Practical application of Lean and/or Six Sigma principles preferred
- Significant experience in a mining/heavy industry environment
- Demonstrated experience in managing change within large organizations and/or a strong desire to manage change and drive improvement
- Experience in engaging a team to deliver agreed outputs
- Passion and energy to engage in improvement activities at all levels through your ability to lead and influence stakeholders
- Solid understanding and experience using continuous improvement techniques & methodologies or the ability to quickly learn these
- Sound interpersonal skills especially in the areas of communication and group facilitation
- Ability to coach site management and improvement teams as required in the use of the BI framework, strategy, tools and methodologies.
- Good computer skills with the ability to use integrated management systems, word processing, presentation and spreadsheet applications.
