Basic Functions:
The Lead Field Operator will be fully familiar with all aspects of the operations and operating procedures. Assists the foreman with daily operations. Provides on-site direction and training of more junior operators. Acts as area Lead Operator of the Field Equipment and performs all work and services ordinarily performed by an Operator for the management and operation of the Field Equipment.
Relationships:
Reporting to the Area Foreman.
Specific Responsibilities:
Day to day operation, inspection, maintenance, alteration and repair of the Field Equipment;
Participate in and lead a team of operators in oil and gas field operating practices and all applicable laws, statutes, orders, rules and regulations of any governmental authority having jurisdiction over the Field Equipment, including without limitation those relating to environmental, health and safety standards and the following: All Provincial Energy and Utilities Boards, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Protection, The Workers' Compensation Board and agencies dealing with Transportation of Dangerous Goods, Work Place Hazardous Materials Information Systems and Emergency Response Plans
Demonstrate and uphold all of the Corporation’s rules, guidelines, policies and procedures applicable to the conduct of operations relating to the Field Equipment
Use personal protection equipment necessary to meet all current regulatory requirements and the Corporation’s health and safety policies
Testing, sampling, the keeping of accurate records and the preparation and submission of all necessary documents and reports, all in relation to the Field Equipment
Take whatever action that it considers reasonably necessary for the protection of life, health, property and the environment in the event of fire, flood, storm, explosion, serious accident or other similar causes or any emergency
HSSE:
Execute HSSE policy, process and procedure
Ensure that all Field Operators have the appropriate HSSE competencies
Ensure HSSE audit compliance
Operating Expenses:
Coordinate 3rd party services and material purchases to ensure TAQA receives the most value for all operating dollars spent. Ensure all services and materials are necessary, economically justified and are purchased from the most cost effective supplier. Reduce the cost of travel by planning and coordination
Minimize inventories to reduce the financial impact of warehousing
Reduce the cost of vendor overcharges by tracking time on site, travel time and only approving time tickets for services received at agreed upon rates
Volumes:
Ensure throughput volumes are maintained at the optimum levels
Ensure equipment and facilities are maintained to meet throughput requirements
Understand the facility capabilities and operating state at all times
Understand what throughputs are and react to deviations in a timely manner
Compliance:
Ensure assets compliance with all industry policies and standards
Ensure assets compliance with all regulatory policies and standards
Ensure human resources policies & practices are adhered to
Provide Leadership to area staff in Management Of Change
Qualifications:
Usual qualifications include: 8 or more years of oil and gas operating experience, valid operator certification and a working knowledge of regulatory requirements for the O&G industry.
Education: Minimum Grade 12 High School, Preference will be given to candidates with Journeyman Trades or Field/Gas Plant Operator certifications
