Basic Functions:
The Management of Change - Engineer is responsible for leading the Management of Change Process by supporting all engineering aspects relating to modification, alteration or non replacement in kind change activities.
Relationships:
Reporting to the Facilities Engineering Manager.
Specific Responsibilities:
Construct, review and audit engineered documents relating to changes in field operations with regards to piping, valving, structural systems, pressure vessels, pipeline systems, and control systems
Facilitate the as-building process as it relates to the MOC process
Work with the Asset groups to risk rank facilities and provide as building support where required including PFD’s, PID’s, Isometric drawings, I/E drawings
Issue piping drawings for construction or work closely with the facilities engineering and select EPC’s on larger more complex installations
Provide oversight and direction with regards to structural installations and piping stress analysis
Work with external engineering firms and internal groups to source, procure and archive historical technical documentation as it relates to facilities owned or operated by TAQA North
Work closely with the MOC coordinator to respond to field needs or requests providing prompt service to engineering challenges and field based changes
Support Process Engineering initiatives
Engage in HAZOP activities or Engineering reviews
Write, issue, review, and recommend solutions to engineered systems in all operated facilities at TAQA North
Support and recommend improvements to the existing MOC process and it’s deliverables
Assist Operations with troubleshooting existing equipment issues or interpretation of the MOC process
Provide mentorship to junior engineers, engineering interns, or engineering summer students
Qualifications:
Professional Mechanical Engineer with 5-10 years experience in the oil and gas industry in Western Canada
Excellent communication skills with all levels of engineering and field staff
Working knowledge of relevant CSA Standards (Z662, Z245.1), ASME codes, Industry accepted standards and ABSA regulations
Working knowledge of Auto Cad, experienced with fabrication of technical drawings
Professional engineering designation in Alberta.
British Columbia and Saskatchewan engineering designation an asset
Ability to work in a matrix organization with different lines of accountability
