Having a significant impact on the continued success and high reputation for excellence, this leadership role will play an integral role in the full operation of the metallurgical testing laboratory. The Senior Metallurgist will be responsible for monitoring the testing, reporting and training standards, conduct client interface and respond to requests, ensure the highest standards of professional quality for testing client ores, and providing expertise as part of a technical and business group for the corporate metallurgical division.
The successful candidate will have 10+ years of industry experience with increasing management and technical responsibilities with 5+ years of plant operation experience. This person will have an undergraduate or graduate degree in Mineral Processing, Chemical or Metallurgical Engineering or a related discipline. Registered or eligible for registration as a P.Eng., strong knowledge of NI 43-101 standards and knowledge of laboratory procedures and equipment are required combined with solid interpersonal and management skills and a strong track record of successfully completing projects in the mining industry. Serious attention to detail is a key trait and exposure to Six Sigma or other quality systems would be advantageous. This career opportunity will be based at the company’s facilities in Richmond, British Columbia with travel as necessary.
