SENIOR DRILLING ENGINEER AB, BC, Canada
ACCOUNTABILITY:
This is a full time engineering position in the Calgary office reporting directly to the Supervisor of Drilling AB / BC.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
 Support the Petrobakken Safety and Continuous Improvement Culture
 Work in a multifunctional team environment including the program preparation, originating AFE’s, offset data analysis, casing and cement programs, drill string and BHA design
 Working collaboratively with the asset team to align priorities and maximize efficiencies
 Data quality assurance, post well reviews with recommendations for improvements
 Operational and HSE learning’s captured and shared across the organization, monthly roll up and variance report on AFE vs. Field costs
 Application of appropriate existing and emerging technologies
 Other responsibilities as requested by the Drilling Supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS:
 Bachelor degree in Petroleum, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering with a P Eng designation
 Minimum of 5-10 years of Drilling Programming and Engineering experience
 Experience in horizontal drilling techniques and previous field experience in Western Canada will be considered an asset
 Good working knowledge of the regulatory requirements in AB and BC, complex well construction and engineering practices
 Comfortable with the latest computer applications, i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook, geo SCOUT, Wellman
 Strong problem solving skills and decision making capabilities, strong communication skills, the ability to facilitate discussions in a positive proactive manner
