Job description:

POSITION OVERVIEW:Responsible for safely operating and conducting operator maintenance checks on all mine equipment. Work as a team player ensuring safe production to meet production goals. Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in operating equipment.  Maintain accurate pre-operation records of equipment.  Learn and demonstrate daily preoperation checks of emergency steering, emergency brakes, lights and other safety checks. Demonstrate safe working practices and be proactive on safety and the environment.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (essential position functions): Work incident and injury free. Know the area and dump locations in the mine.  Have basic knowledge of pit and safety rules and regulations. Have basic knowledge of mechanical system of all equipment to preform and document walk around check to evaluate mechanical condition of mining equipment. Operate and certified on 70 to 100 ton Haul trucks, down the hole hammer drills, water trucks, Cat 16G grader, small excavator with hammer, 7 – 15 cubic yard loaders, Cat D9 dozer or larger, fuel and lubrication truck, and hydraulic front shovel.  Shift work may be required. Have good verbal and written communication skills to include have ability to read, understand and speak in English. Shovel operator must be able to load 450 tons/hour of waste or ore. Drill operator must be able to drill 3 holes per hour in waste or ore. Loader operator must be able to load 100 ton trucks at a rate of 1210 tons/hour of waste. Able to work well with others and adapt to a changing environment. Must be able to demonstrate ability to operate all equipment in each level efficiently and fill in as needed in all these positions. Miner A: Demonstrate ability to operate Front Shovel, Loader, Drill, D9 Dozer, Grader, Haul trucks, Cat Water wagon, small excavator with hammer, and Fuel & Lubrication truck.  Must obtain a blasting license and fill in as mine supervisor.  Miner B: Demonstrate ability to operate Drill, D9 Dozer, Grader, Haul trucks, Cat Water wagon, excavator with hammer, and Fuel & Lubrication truck. (Open dependent on qualifications & training) Miner C: Demonstrate ability to operate Haul trucks, Cat Water wagon, small excavator with hammer, and Fuel & Lubrication truck.  ( Open dependent on qualifications and training) Trainee: Demonstrate ability to operate Fuel & Lubrication truck and Cat water wagon.
