Rambler Metals and Mining is an entrepreneurial junior mining company that owns 100% of the Ming Mine copper-gold property, located on the Baie Verte Peninsula of Newfoundland and Labrador. Following a successful two year surface exploration program of the former mine, and the completion of a bankable Feasibility Study, the project has embarked on preproduction and construction activities to prepare for commercial production which started in early-2012.
We are currently recruiting a Journeymen Mobile Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our Ming Mine Operations, reporting directly to the Lead Heavy Equipment Mechanic and/or Mine Superintendent.
Job Summary:
Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions, determine extent of repair required and adjust equipment, repair or replace defective parts. Test repaired equipment for proper performance, clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Comply with all Rambler Mines safety regulations and procedures.
- Other duties and tasks that may be assigned from time to time.
- Acting in a safe manner at all times and ensuring co-workers are also working safely;
- Troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and diesel engines;
- Diagnosing machine malfunctions and making adjustments using computerized and other testing equipment, replacing broken or worn parts and reassembling of mechanical sub-assemblies;
- Reading and working from fabrication drawings, hydraulic prints and schematics, and automotive type low voltage electrical schematics;
- Operating forklift and lubrication equipment in a safe and efficient manner;
- Complete inspection sheets, timecards, and other reports properly;
- Coach and Instruct apprentices;
- Maintain inventory of stored material;
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience as a Journeymen Heavy Equipment Mechanic
- Dependability
- Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to communicate and coordinate planned activities with co-workers and supervisors.
- Must have high safety standards using all the required personal protective equipment
- Must be physically fit to complete the daily workload and able to work in all weather conditions.
