Essential Functions
(75%) Primary Purpose
· Conduct daily tool box meetings
· Conduct monthly safety meeting and correct any deficiencies as soon as possible
· Maintain the highest level of housekeeping within the maintenance areas
· Conduct incident investigations and have a copy in the manager’s hands within 12 hours.
· Supervise, coordinate and schedule the activities of the assigned crew to effectively optimize the utilization of resources -man-power, tools, equipment, parts. And material and personnel, toward the goal of optimum equipment availability.
· Ensuring the highest availability of mining equipment and minimize equipment down time
· Ensuring that parts are ordered and monitored for down equipment
· Ensuring that the work order system and other information systems are being used correctly.
· Work with planning to ensure that the PM & work schedule is maintained according to plan and communicate otherwise.
· Monitor shop tooling and Service vehicle use and make recommendation for any adjustments to this inventory for budget purposes.
(20%) Production
· Provide leadership to all trades, ensuring work is being completed in a safe, efficient and timely manner;
· Implement daily and weekly operational plans, in accordance with production plan requirements;
· Submit reports on equipment breakdowns, equipment damage, safety near misses, environmental incidents and accidents according to established procedures in a timely manner; and
· Assign tasks and ensure the shift’ schedule is maintained;
· Assist with preparation of Maintenance and Improvement Plans;
· Assist the planning crew with developing preventative maintenance work sheets
· Prepare activity reports and work order reports;
· Recommend the purchase of goods and equipment;
· Ensure records are maintained; and
