A major player within the Australian building space, our client is a leader in the manufacture and sales of a broad range of construction materials. They are a household name and a recognised market leader. Due to someone retiring, a rare opportunity has arisen for our client to recruit a Principal Mechanical Engineer.

The Engineering services Group provides engineering services across the business. As such it is involved in diverse engineering and process improvement projects as well as the provision of technical advice and investigations across many operations and sites.

The Principal Mechanical Engineer (PME) is primarily accountable for investigating, designing, evaluating and controlling engineering projects and costs, and providing effective engineering services in order to support our clients purpose to be a world leader in the building and construction materials industry. To do this, the PME Plans and controls the investigation, design and evaluation of Mechanical Engineering projects to ensure that the projects are delivered to the customer within the Company's contractual obligations in respect to safety, quality, time and performance requirements, at optimum cost.

The successful candidate will ideally have the following:-

• Tertiary Qualifications or a Certificate in Mechanical Engineering
• 10 years mechanical design experience
• 2 to 3 years direct project management experience
• Experience in managing a small team.
