CH2M HILL Process Safety Engineer Jobs – Houston, Texas

Our Process Safety Engineer position will provide you with the opportunity to assist the process teams on projects providing process safety and risk management and assessment, HAZOP and LOPA  analysis, procedure development, training course development, and development of safety instrumented system front end loading related deliverables for chemical or petrochemical plants, oil refineries, gas production or related PSM-regulated industries.  Ready? Daily our Process Safety Engineers:

• Lead multiple areas of process safety engineering- risk assessment, safety instrumented systems, incident investigation, fire protection technologies, etc.
• Perform, facilitate and document process hazard analysis and root cause analysis using detailed, systematic approaches.
• Utilize skills in Process Safety, PHA's, MOC's, PSSR's, knowledge of process safety concepts and methodologies; to read, comprehend and use P&IDs, equipment and layout drawings and specifications for complex chemical processes.
• Use process safety software, i.e.  FAST, PHAPro, PHAWorks, and other programs
• Mentor other Engineers in PSM related skills.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelors in Chemical Engineering
• Minimum 7 years experience
• Knowledge of Safety Integrity Level (SIL) identification and Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA) preferred. 
• Experience in quantitative risk assessment and facility siting analysis   •
• Experience in developing, implementing or managing process safety/risk managment programs (e.g. OSHA PSM, EPA RMP)

Preferred Qualifications

P.E. Licence, CFSE, CSP accreditation is preferred, TWIC holder 

Degree Required

Bachelors or 4 Year Degree
