ELECTRICAL TRAINER

Reporting to the Engineering Training Coordinator, we seek to appoint an Electrical Trainer at our Bulyanhulu gold mining operation. The incumbent will be responsible to execute and implement tasks as instructed by the Training Coordinator, and the position will be on a fly in, fly out status – 6 weeks on and 3 weeks off.

KEY RESULT AREAS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Train Electricians both in classroom and workshop scenario.
• Coordinate the training of and supervision with regards to all IMTT students when on site.
• Perform safety checks on all electrical equipment correctly.
• Conduct in-house training on faultfinding by means of electrical circuit drawings.
• Conduct in-house training and simulations with all electrical students.
• Train and coach all students to adhere to all safety, health, environmental, electrical and other company policies, procedures and guidelines.
• Train and coach students so as to read, understand and design LV (low voltage) and HV (high voltage) reticulation drawings and to apply in practice.

PROFESSIONAL SKILLS

Education Requirements:

• FTC certificate in the electrical trade
• 3 Years Experience in training Surface and U/G Electricians

Experience Requirements:

• Knowledge and Exposure to:
o Electrical Fault Finding
o Schematic designs
o Sound Knowledge of electrical trade theory
o Sound knowledge of training and assessment techniques
• Good communication skills in both Swahili and English
• Knowledge of Electrical Theory and Electrical machines used on an Underground Gold Mine as well as Gold Plant Process Plant
• Teaching and Training skills
• A strong personal commitment to teach and implement the electrical trade, with the ability to foster strong safety culture among students.
• Ability to work with people from a wide range of nationalities and cultures.
