Job description:

Position SummaryThe Senior Mine Engineer is responsible for managing, coordinating and controlling various Consulting Engineering firms who are contributing to Prefeasibility Studies and conducting various Engineering projects. The Senior Engineer will coordinate mining engineering, planning and geotechnical services, including trade off/opportunity studies, estimates, and conceptual design work, to ensure effective management and recovery of mineral resources. The Senior Mine Engineer will be responsible for strategic long term mine planning and long term mine design at the various operations. Management responsibilities include leading the corporate mine engineering team and ensuring that Corporate Technical Service’s commitments are completed in a cost efficient, timely and qualitative fashion.Key ResponsibilitiesInformation Systems  Utilize the Capstone electronic document management system to manage filing of contracts, technical reports and drawings  Manage the assembly of turn over packages (as-built drawings, maintenance & operating manuals) Mine Planning & Design  Supervises Corporate Technical Engineering services  Manages the development of Life of Mine Plan production schedules, OPEX, CAPEX, Manpower, H&S aspects, and Environmental requirements  Manage the compilation of prefeasibility studies and various detailed engineering assistance to facilitate development of Environmental Applications and Permit Applications  Assist the sites with development and implementation of Project Control systems Provides site assistance with respect to engineering requirements such as ventilation, rock mechanics/ground control, infrastructure designs, economic studies, mining sequence establishment and drill and blast design.  Provides technical oversight to resource modelers  Manages development of RFP’s, review quotes and compile bid recommendation correspondenceOperations Support  Optimizes the extraction of mineralized deposits to meet Company objectives  Manages and controls project expenditures  Develops and manages budgets for the specific projects that Corporate Technical Services are managing on behalf of the customer, the operating sites.  Conducts financial evaluations & cost analysis for operating and capital project justification  Provides cost/benefit advice, analysis and calculations to operations teams  Provides advice and direction to mining operations in developing and implementing engineering, mine design, planning and scheduling strategies  Assist with Socio Economic & Environmental meetings with government regulators, communities & First Nations  Promotes safety at all times. Acts safely and encourages others in the team to do the same. Ensures safety considerations are incorporated in all development design, mine planning and projects. Leadership & Management  Supervises a Mine Engineer, an Engineering in Training and a Technical Administration Assistant  Directs and supervise outside consultants  Manages the Corporate Technical services department staff by providing effective leadership, performance management, career development and succession planning.  Creates a positive working environment and develops and implements effective training, coaching and mentoring programs which ensure that employees and contractors gain new skills and achieve their full potential. Reports toVice President Technical ServicesPage 2Qualifications and Experience A minimum of 7 years of mining industry experience in operations and/or management  Candidates must have a recognized University Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Science  A combination of experience in mine operations and projects is preferred  Dynamic and energetic, with a demonstrated ability to achieving results through teamwork  Possesses outstanding ability to plan, organize and execute  Demonstrated experience in long range mine planning  Detailed knowledge of the integration of the mining, milling, technical services and maintenance functions  Demonstrated skills in capital project justification, budget development, expenditure monitoring and controls Experience in systematic coaching and training of employees  Exceptional verbal, written, analytical and persuasive skills  The ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management  Awareness of culture, business environment and infrastructure issues  A proactive and decisive communicator with a demonstrated commitment to peopleLocation Minto  Santo Domingo  Vancouver Head Office  Cozamin Other: _____________________Contact DetailsName John SagmanTitle Vice President Technical ServicesPhone 604 684 8894Email hr@capstonemining.com
