Aker Process Systems has an opportunity for an Instrumentation Specialist to work with our Operations team.
Responsibilities and tasks
• Determine the scope of Instrumentation for assigned projects.
• Estimate project costs, resources and time to completion of projects.
• Develop Instrumentation specifications, datasheets.
• Assist in P&ID development provide instrumentation details and participate in drawing/document review Hazops etc.
• Check drawings (P&ID’s, installation details etc.) for accuracy, code requirements etc.
• Enter instrumentation tag details into data base.
• Prepare Instrumentation material requisitions, evaluate quotations, prepare purchase documents.
• Provide Instrumentation Engineering expertise to clients to technically and economically solve project goals.
• Address technical queries from other disciplines/clients to resolve questions in an expeditious manner.
• Respond to project queries from clients so as to resolve technical or delivery issues efficiently and to their satisfaction.
• Visit fabrication/construction sites to ensure that Instrumentation meets the requirements of design and installation detail as specified.
• Monitor documentation requirements to ensure the completeness and accuracy of those documents specified to vendors. Ensure that all documentation is maintained in accordance with company standards for accuracy and consistency.
• Performs I&C engineering including preparation of: design criteria, specifications, calculations, data sheets, sketches, material requisitions and construction work packages.
Qualifications & personal attributes
• University graduate in applied science or engineering (Electrical).
• Expertise in electrical, instrumentation and controls engineering, tools and systems.
• 3-7 years experience in an Instrumentation Engineering Environment
• Good communications skills, orally and written.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel and Access
• Familiarity with Smart Plant Instrumentation (InTools)
