Job Title:  Mobile Equipment Trainer/Advisor

Reports to: Mobile Equipment Senior Supervisor

Location: PV Mine Site

Position Overview:

The incumbent is responsible for establishing, implementing and coordinating the Process Site Services training programs to ensure a safe, competent and productive maintenance workforce. Core skills development of a large team is integral in the success of the project and will provide many challenges in the early stages. The position will be based in the Dominican Republic.

Duties & Responsibilities

Work closely with supervisors and the superintendent to determine training needs and the development of training programs.

Contribute to defining the core skills and competencies for the site services trade areas.

Develop accredited trade training competency and certification programs for the department working with third party providers if required.

Build a team of site services training personnel.

Participate in defining and implementing safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with corporate, regulatory, statutory or industry best practice requirements.

Participate in the development of SOP's, SMP's, Workplace Inspections and Task Observations.

Partner with other PVDC Training professionals to achieve efficient coordination of common training.

Supervise the preparation, organization and delivery of traning courses and modules as per the NCCER, NCCCO, PVDC and vendor specific curriculums.

Manage the training records and programs.

Continually monitor and report on performance.

Conduct performance evaluations of team members.

Contribute to the budgeting process.

Supervisory Requirements

Field trainers and trainees.

Education

NCCCO Certification. In addition, a tradesmen certification on Carpentry, Mason or additional qualification as a mobile equipment operator would be an asset.

Leadership and supervisory training.

Formal qualification in adult education.

Recognised Safety certification is desired.

Strong mathematical skills.

Rigging knowledge and experience.

Experience

5+ years of experience in maintenance and/or operations of cranes and mobile equipment, with at least 3 years in a training and development or supervisory and  leadership position.

Previous experience in the succesful development and implementation of crane and mobile equipment training programs.

Previous experience working in a developing country.

Skills & Abilities

Demonstrated ability leading and developing a multicultural team.

Proficient in the use of Microsoft products and ERP systems.

Coordination of training activities with equipment vendors and third party providers.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and able to speak, read and write in English.

Bilingual English / Spanish highly preferred.
