Reporting to the Safety Coordinator this role will provide safety coverage for the proposed civil, dewatering and infrastructure works taking place over the next 12 months of construction.

We are seeking a candidate that has the following skills and experience:

• Minimum Certificate IV in OHS (diploma desirable)
• 5 years experience in a Health & Safety role within the resources and/or construction industry
• Demonstrated experience in major Client/EPCM/EPC projects and construction/mining HSER standards.
• Cert IV in assessment & workplace training highly desirable.
• Working knowledge of the WA Mine Safety Inspection Act 1994 and Regulations 1995, Occupational Safety & Inspection Act 1984 & Regulations 1996, Codes of Practice and Australian Standards.
• Experience in HSER system development and implementation in a major project based environment
• Experience in conducting field audits, incident investigation and solid report writing skills

Core Accountabilities:

• Work with H&S and line management to design the most effective and practical project and construction safety standards.
• Oversee and implement the effective embedment of the H&S management system.
• Development and implementation of effective and practical Safety standards aligned to organisation objectives
• Effective championing of health and safety in a construction environment
• Provide guidance and advice to operations and project teams
• Continuous improvement approach to health and safety
• Well managed investigations with outcomes executed
• Undertake and report on audits and inspections to Line Management for their action
