We are currently looking to add a Supervisor, Warehouse Operations to our Edmonton location. 

  • Responsible for all aspects of warehousing functions:
  1. shipping
  2. receiving
  3. tracking of products
  4. warehouse maintenance
  5. cycle counts
  6. ordering of consumables

 

  • Maintain parts inventory levels for the purpose of meeting regional customer needs while effectively controlling redundancy and overall inventory value.
  • Provide high quality service to the Parts groups and regional parts customers.
  • Assist national and global inventory management staff in addressing their requirements.
  • Supervise the department in accordance with company health and safety, human resources, and accounting policies, procedures and programs.
  • Implement systems and programs which result in continuous improvement in warehouse operations and service to customers.
Qualifications
  • Journeyman Parts Technician preferred or equivalent years of warehouse experience, logistics, inventory planning an leading a team of warehouse professionals.
  • 2-5 years demonstrated experience leading a team.
  • Prior experience in a shipping and/or receiving environment, general understanding of warehouse operations, moderate computer and strong teamwork skills are required.
  • Experience with the operation of powered industrial vehicles, such as a forklift, and manual equipment such as pallet jacks is required.
  • Solid customer service skills, organizational skills, and computer skills (including SAP and MS word/excel)

Responsibilities:

Division products are the OE equipment, sub-assembly components, and parts used in underground mining industry. The quality engineer position will primarily focus on the following processes:

Burn (Plasma and Oxy)

Welding

Fabrication

Establishment of evaluation and test criteria on all processes is required. Emphasis is placed on the prevention of defects rather than the appraisal of the finished product. It is the responsibility of this position to implement tests and analysis of product and processes to assure customer requirement are met, as well as all applicable U.S. government and international standards and regulations.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in heavy fabrication.  
  • Position requires a strong background in the welding/fabrication process, in addition to a degree in Weld Engineering, or applicable experience. 
  • Certifications in CWI and CWE and NDT qualifications are preferred. 
  • Specialized training in statistics, problem solving techniques, and general Quality discipline methods are required.
  • The successful candidate must have a good understanding of computers, and knowledge of SAP business systems is desirable.
  • Supervisory skills and interpersonal skills and experience in a heavy industrial environment are highly desirable.

Position Summary

Dozer Operators will be responsible for consistently pushing large amounts
of stockpile into a "in ground" mining hole (screen) that feeds into
conveyor belt. This conveyor belt is what constantly feeds the wet mill.
This position is extremely important this person will control how much ore
is being processed per hour. There will be a scoreboard posted on site that
tells you if you are pushing too much or not enough dirt. This person will
also work in tandem with the excavator operators and haul truck drivers to
ensure that they have enough ore at all times to keep the mine constantly
operating.
-Will be responsible for managing operations around the dirt feed
-Must be an extremely safe operator as other large vehicles will be
operating in the same vicinity (haul trucks, Dozers, etc.)
- Must have experience performing pre/post trip check list (tire pressure,

Position Summary and Responsibilities
Purpose of Role The Blast Supervisor will support and manage all Blasting
activities on the Tasiast mine. The position reports to the Drill and Blast
superintendent in the Mining department and works on a rotation schedule
from Tasiast to home country.
The incumbent must  focus on the basics, consolidate and improve upon the
current blast practice and process to allow the mine to operate without
having to move equipment out of plan because of inadequate blasted material.
The aim is to achieve and maintain blasted inventory to a minable (usable)
inventory level of 3 Mton, pumping a daily average of 40 to 50  tons of
explosives down the hole to achieve budgeted production levels.
Additionally must achieve fragmentation to a level of 90/500 with a maximum
of 1/1000 (90% less than 500mm with not more than 1% larger than 1000mm in
size) with adequate block rotation to improve productivity from current
levels.
The incumbent  is expected to spend up to 90% of his/her time in the field
to affect simple and sustainable improvement / change where necessary and
agreed
It is critical to this role the efficient transfer of knowledge to the local
Mauritanian staff ensuring rigorous performance management is implemented as
well as succession and development plans are in place with the aim of
attaining Kinross Mauritanisation objectives
Key Areas of Responsibility & Duties
Ensure compliance with safe blasting procedures for both company and
contractor staff;
Train, mentor and provision of technical guidance and transfer of knowledge
to national Blast Leading Hands, and Blast Crew Laborers in operational best
practices, management of explosives and field performance;
Assign crews and equipment to specific tasks in order to meet blasting goals
Assess and continually improve the current blast practice:
 - Control of blast design, pattern prep., pattern mark-up and accurate
execution of drilled blast holes
 - Booster placement in blast hole
 - Explosives discharge hose placement in blast hole
 - Explosives column height
 - Blast hole stemming

The Consolidation Analyst participates in the data collection, review and

LOCATION: Bornite Camp, Alaska  RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES: The Environmental Technician is responsible for ensuring that the project complies with all state and federal regulatory requirements. Key responsibilities and duties include: • Assisting the Environmental Manager in routine environmental compliance activities. • Monitoring drilling operations and reporting and responding to environmental issues. • Installing storm water control measures. • Assisting in spill cleanup. • Managing necessary paperwork and documentation in an organized framework.  

 

EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: • High school diploma or GED is required. • A college degree or courses taken in a science discipline an asset. • Experience working in an environmental science field or permitting is an asset but not required. • Experience with field sampling protocol is an asset but not required. • Must be organized, self-motivated and willing to learn. • Must be able to take, and give directions clearly. • Must be able to work in a remote camp setting on a rotational basis.

Key responsibilities and duties include:  Administer first response first aid to all staff and contractors on site.  Maintain a clean, well-organized, secured and stocked first aid tent.  Check and maintain first aid kits located throughout camp (ie: kitchen, core shack, shop etc).  Maintain medical incident reports and ensure they are sent to HR and the Exploration Business Manager for Worker’s Compensation related issues.  Participate in drug and alcohol testing administration.  Assist in ERT activities or the village of Kobuk as needed.  Assist the Safety Supervisor with the implementation and enforcement of safety programs and standards.  Assist with labor and/or administrative work as required around camp.  Conduct bag and room checks as required (i.e. reasonable suspicion, upon arrival at site).  Provide brief daily and weekly reports to the Exploration Business Manager and Project Manager.  

 

EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:  High school diploma or GED is required.  Medical response training (First Responder, ETT, EMT) is required.  MSHA or OH&S training is an asset.  A valid driver’s license is required.  At least 2 years’ experience in medical response is preferred.  Safety/security experience is an asset.  Experience working in a remote camp is an asset.  Must be willing to work in a remote camp in alpine arctic conditions.

As a Purchasing Officer, you will ensure the effective purchasing of materials and supplies, within Company guidelines and to appropriate standards, to allow the timely manufacture of equipment at site. This is a permanent part-time position, based in Perth. Key Responsibilities: • Responsible for purchasing goods and services for the operations department; • Monitor consumable usage and assist with stock control; • Develop a relationship with appropriate External Suppliers; • Actively solicit parts, manufacturing, and service to allow maximum cost effective use of Company funds; • Ensure that all purchases are made in a timely manner to ensure seamless supply of goods and services; • Ensure that all purchases are cost effective; • Ensure inventory controls are maintained; • Undertake other activities as may be required from time to time.
Skills & Experience: • Certificate IV or Diploma in Business Administration or Equivalent; • Minimum 4 years previous experience in a purchasing role; • Experience of Inventory Control & Supplier Contract Management; • Experience in heavy industry or mining services desirable; • Ability to work unsupervised and manage your own work day; • Intermediate computer skills (including Microsoft Office and SAP); • Strong negotiation skills; • Written and oral communication skills (including excellent interpersonal skills); • Excellent organisational skills; • Excellent time-management; • Motivated & committed. Exact position and responsibilities will depend on candidate’s skills and experience level. General CTE Responsibilities CTE’s (Center of Technical Expertise) are responsible for being Joy’s “Expert” for their specialist field and working with Chief Engineers, globally, to achieve high product reliability and competitive advantage. For the particular specialty, the CTE is responsible, has authority and is accountable for:  Setting design standards for product engineers (development and application)  Staying abreast of the current “state of the art” in their field to maintain product competitive advantage  Providing technical leadership, in their field, to the engineering organization  Providing specialist design services to product engineers  Together with the product engineers, improving product reliability and reducing warranty/concession costs with respect to those aspects affected by their specialist field  Together with product engineers, resolving major (costly, frequent, widespread or potentially costly) reliability or performance issues  Product development  Consideration of product safety in all designs Cutting CTE Responsibilities  Develop technical and functional requirements for cutting system products.  Design and develop cutting systems for underground mining equipment that maintain/enhance technical leadership, meet/exceed customer needs, maximize performance and minimize costs.  Design and develop bits and bit holding systems for Continuous Miners and Shearer drums.  Design and develop tools for servicing bit holding systems.  Liaise with manufacturing, manufacturing engineering, and quality departments to maximize manufacturing efficiency of cutting systems components.  Liaise with machine designers to assure suitability of the cutting systems for their intended purposes.  Analyze/benchmark competitor products.  Work with Product Directors to continuously refine understanding of the market requirements, proactively respond with refining the technology development efforts and implementation of new products.  Seek patent protection for cuttings systems/components. Pro-actively identify and address patent issues such as the merit of filing for patents, preparing necessary technical information, reviewing competitor violations to Joy Global patents and providing information necessary to contest patent violations.  Liaise with Field Service Engineers. Investigate and analyze performance problems with existing products and drive for solutions.  Identify 3rd party technology and work closely with required resources internally, externally (e.g. universities, government labs, industry partners) and across disciplines that are needed to achieve project objectives.
Desired Skills  Minimum four-year degree in Mechanical or Mining Engineering with a graduate degree desired.  Experience in design of underground mining equipment cutting systems.  Strong analytical and problem solving skills.  Ability to design and develop new products from concept to the commercialization stage.  Demonstrated ability to work in team environment; strong interpersonal skills are essential. Capable of working on cross-functional teams on a global basis.  Willingness and ability to visit underground mines.
