 BASIC FUNCTION:   Under the direction of a Rig Supervisor, the Crew Chief organizes the rig crew, conducts Job Safety Meetings, delegates the collection of materials and equipment needed to perform the contracted services, drives the Rig to the work site, operates the rig and equipment and directs the crew to set-up and prepare the rig for the tasks to be performed.  Directs the assigned crew workers and derrick workers to safely perform the service tasks contracted by a client utilizing the equipment provided by the employer; documents services performed the billable supplies used during the process and the time elapsed while performing the contracted services   Also records employee compensable time. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:   1. Available to work beyond the traditional 8 hour work day; available to work Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays, to meet operational needs. Well services work is generally performed during day-light hours, Monday through Friday, occasionally on Saturday and or Sunday.  Certain operations cannot however be completed during a single daylight period and must be continued without interruption, over several consecutive days.  Such operations are referred to as “24 hour operations,” and require two or more shifts, crews, to operate the rig.  Able to work at heights up to or greater than 50 feet. 2. Dependability is imperative. Reporting for work at the prescribed location and time, dressed for deployment to work, is essential.  Unauthorized absences will result in discipline up to and including employment termination. 3. Compliance with public laws and company policies is essential.  Non-compliance will result in discipline up to and including termination of employment. 4. Drive rig and other vehicles assigned to the project. 5. Complies with the client’s and the company’s safe operating procedures.  All activities are to be performed consistent with the company’s Safe Operating Procedures, to provide the maximum protection for all workers at the work site, the environment, the equipment; and complete the tasks efficiently.  9. Conducts safety meetings and performs JSA’s with his crew members and other service providers on site. 10. May be required to drive a company, light or DOT regulated commercial vehicle. 11. Completes the Field Service Reports, documenting services performed, equipment used, billable consumables and compensable crew time. 12. Incumbent employee is expected to participate in company provided training in rig operations, Standard Operating Procedures and safe work procedures. 13. Performs the primary thinking called for and encompassed by the overall Position Definition. 14. Adheres to company policies and work requirements. 15. Performs and assumes other duties and responsibilities as may be required by immediate supervisor. 16. Heavy Work- Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work. 17. This position requires standing, walking, and sitting while working either indoors or outdoors. 18. While performing the job, the Crew Chief will be required to lift/carry, pull/push, reach, squat, kneel, and or climb ladders or stairs. 19. Working conditions for this position may involve exposure to varying environmental conditions. This may include chemicals, gases, cold/heat, noise, dampness, dust, fumes, radiation and heights.  Exposure to the above conditions should be handled as prescribed in the Company’s Accident Prevention Handbook and/or the Company’s Standard Operating Procedures. 20. Other requirements include mental, physical and manual dexterity, hand/grip strength, depth perception and any other physical attributes that enable the employee to perform the job safely according to all Company, local, State, and Federal regulations and requirements. 21. This position requires the ability to wear personal protective equipment and/or safety equipment including safety glasses, face shields, goggles, ear muffs/plugs, steel toe boots, hard hat, full body harness with applicable fall protection devices, SCBA (Self Contained Breathing Apparatus), H2S detectors, slicker or TYVEK suits and gloves.

BASIC FUNCTION

Operates traveling or stationary overhead crane (cab or ground controlled) to lift, move, and position loads, such as machinery, equipment, products, and solid or bulk materials, using hoisting attachments, such as hook, sling, or bucket.  

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Available for duty seven (7) days a week, able to work more then an eight (8) hour shift.  Due to our customers’ demands this position will require flexibility in work schedules in order to meet the customers’ needs based upon demand.  Overnight stays and travel will be required.

2. Observes load hookup and determines safety of load. Manipulates or depresses crane controls, such as pedals, levers, and buttons, to regulate speed and direction of crane and hoist movement according to written, verbal, or signal instructions. Cleans and maintains crane and hoisting mechanism. Inspects crane for defective parts and notifies supervisor of defects or malfunctions. May attach load to hook or other crane accessory prior to operating crane and be designated to drive to designated locations as required.

3. Installs and removes crane booms, extensions and hook blocks. Positions crane outriggers assemblies and maneuvers in response to hand signals. Installs rigs and removes crane attachments. Performs clamshell, dragline, and hook block operations. Determines safe lifting capacities.

4. The Crane Operator will drive to and from the area office to the customer’s location and back to the areas office. 

5. Maintains accurate work tickets based on the Company’s requirements and the work performed for the customer as well as maintaining accurate driving log books, pre-trip/ post-trip information and maintenance files on the crane.  This position is responsible for alerting appropriate supervision when mechanical defects are noted as well as alerting supervision when hours worked may exceed DOT maximums.

6. Performs and assumes other duties and responsibilities as may be required by immediate supervisor.

• Requires good hand-eye-foot coordination, an ability to judge distance carries equal importance. Most training programs require students to have a high-school diploma, earned with some coursework in science, mechanics and electronics.

• We require professional certification through the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO), even if the state in which they operate does not. 18 states require crane operators to hold certification or licenses through NCCCO. NCCCO offers mobile crane operator certification with a specialty in lattice boom crawler cranes.

10. Assists Field Foreman by suggesting tools to run in hole to fish rods, tubing, and casing.
11. Requires various types and levels of job related training with respect to the operations of the equipment and Company Standard Operating Procedures and also other specialized training as required by regulatory agencies and the Company.

SUMMARY OF
POSITION
Under the supervision of the Joint Interest Billing Team Leader,

Company is seeking an experienced Geologist for the position of Development
Geologist - Geomodeler. The purpose of this role will be to act as an integral
part of both development and exploration team during all phases of EOR planning
and development, data acquisition, reservoir characterization and well
operations. This position will liaise with geologists, reservoir engineers, and
service providers to execute the Company's growth strategy for EOR recovery
operations in the Peace River area with focus in developing geomodels for
different parts of the reservoir.
Reporting Structure:
This position
reports to the Manager, Exploitation.
Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
•
Use existing and newly acquired geological and production data to make
recommendations for EOR planning and development.
• Provide recommendations
for new data acquisition and start locations to support EOR planning and
development.
• Support EOR pilots and work with reservoir and production
engineers to set targets and interpret EOR pilot results.
• Responsible for
creating and updating regional and local geomodeling i Petrel for the thermal
properties.
• Oversee and support procedures and/or guidelines for the

geophysicist, reservoir engineer, petrophysicist, simulation engineer) and
utilized established geoscience data analysis techniques and methodologies to

Reporting to the Asset Team Project Engineering Manager of Integrated Reliability Program, you will be responsible for ensuring equipment strategies are developed for Energy & Utilities area in accordance with Maintenance and Reliability (M&R) Standard, Suncor Technical Standards and ‘Equipment Strategy' Project Charter.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Identify maintenance significant electrical assets as per Suncor standards and coordinate with Master Data group to create master data structure
• Work with cross-functional teams to define risk or criticality of assets
• Work with team to conduct Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) studies or Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to develop maintenance and spare strategies
• Responsible to develop Equipment Strategy Data Sheet (ESDS), identify maintenance, spare/preservation strategies
• Responsible to develop maintenance procedures, check-sheets and inspection scope
• Work with Supply Chain Management (SCM) to create material master/Bill of Materials (provide technical space to SCM)

Job Description:

Suncor is hiring for a Drilling Engineering co-op student for our In Situ team. This is an 8 to 12 month position and is located in Calgary. You must be enrolled in a Petroleum, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering Program and be returning to school upon completion of the work term to be eligible.  

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

The Suncor In Situ project consists of commercial bitumen production facilities utilizing steam assisted gravity drainage (SAGD) technology, a relatively new extraction technique being used to develop Alberta's vast oil sands resource. Working as a part of a team, drilling engineers are responsible for planning, optimizing and executing the initial drilling of injection and producer wells.  The wells are drilled in separate projects. A project may consist of 1 well or multiple wells on a single pad or different areas.

You will:

• Assist in ensuring regulatory reporting compliance for each project
• Prepare pre-drill stick diagrams and "as built" well diagrams
• Participate in well optimization and integrity studies
• Support the In Situ Drilling team in continuous improvement initiatives
• Perform field visits to well sites as required
