A large mining operator is looking for a FIFO Environmental Supervisor for a
site based role. This organisation has a strong presence in the WA industry
and has shown success and growth for many years.
The remit of the role will see you leading and mentoring the environmental
team on site. You will have 2 Senior Environmental Advisors and 2
Scientists. Your responsibilities will be to ensure full compliance in
accordance with the relevant legislation, develop and manage the EMS and
gain all approvals.
It is essential that you have extensive experience working on operational
mine sites in order to apply for this role. You'll have a proven history in
managing and leading environmental experts and a natural style of coaching
and monitoring. Your background will have given you exposure to managing
environmental issues on large operational sites and comprehensive knowledge
of approvals and legislation.
FIFO: 4days /3days - not negotiable and only out of Perth.
Salary: c$180k

The principal requirement of this role is to provide a key engineering and design resource to our dynamic civil engineering delivery team. We are principally focused on the development and house building markets where we provide infrastructure and engineering solutions which underpin the regeneration markets, however there is ample opportunity to contribute to a whole variety of civil engineering projects where civils infrastructure forms an intrinsic part of the project deliverables. This successful candidate will contribute to a wide range of multi-disciplinary projects of all sizes and in numerous sectors including residential, retail, commercial, industrial and leisure.

Working under the limited supervision of team leaders and senior engineers, the successful candidate will make a significant contribution to the day-to-day preparation and delivery of technical design information, reports and drawings. Project work will typically cover: highway alignment and junction design, utilities planning, drainage design (including SUDS and attenuation), highways and drainage adoption procedures, earthworks modelling, preparation of tender and contract documentation preparation, construction supervision and large multi-disciplinary planning applications. The successful candidate may be required to interface with contractors, external design teams and regulatory bodies.

The position offers diverse and interesting projects as well as opportunities for career progression. 



The key responsibilities / accountabilities of this position are:


  • Civil engineering infrastructure design (e.g., highways, junction designs, highway alignments, drainage scheme designs, earthworks/ development platform modeling, civil engineering structures
  • Undertake feasibility and preliminary designs of junctions, alignments, drainage and infrastructures solutions to inform pre-planning assessments of engineering infrastructure
  • Interface with in-house specialists providing services to our development projects (transport planners, environmental scientists, planners, ecologists, etc)
  • Take outline engineering proposals and analyzing to create commercial, imaginative, outline engineering proposals and design solutions
  • Working with technical staff and project managers to translate outline engineering proposals to detailed design drawings and specifications
  • Producing packs of design information for technical approval submissions, for highways infrastructure and drainage submissions.
  • Liaise with public and private sector clients, third party organisations and stakeholders
  • Provide input to key project control documentation such as cost plans and programmes
  • Construction supervision

Basic Qualifications

  • Proven ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team;
  • Personal commitment to work to tight deadlines whilst delivering projects
  • Self motivated and pro-active, with solid, proven academic ability in civil engineering
  • Sound engineering design skills in one or more of the following areas: highway design and adoption, drainage design and adoption, earthworks, ground engineering and civils contract administration
  • Thorough working knowledge of relevant UK codes of practice including SFA6/7, MFS, DMRB
  • Proficient in the use of one or more of WinDes Microdrainage, MX, Civils 3D in addition to AutoCAD;
  • Good written and oral communication skills;
  • Experience in the delivery of infrastructure for development

Responsibilities: Our Montreal office is looking for a (an) engineer (not) safe and environmental health. Sub supervision of project managers, the candidate will be responsible for technical work within project teams. He will have the opportunity to contribute as a technician in all phases of projects related to asbestos management, management of mold problems in buildings, the quality of indoor air in industrial hygiene and hazardous materials. It will, among others, perform field work such as inventories of hazardous building materials, investigations, sampling of air and materials and perform monitoring work done by contractors. It will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of hygiene and laboratory equipment. It will be even write site reports and contribute to the preparation of proposals and reports. The selected candidate will be based in the Montreal office and must be available to work on occasion throughout Quebec and Canada.

Role and Responsibilities Reporting to the Senior Vice President – Hydroelectric Development, and on a project basis to the Project Manager, the Civil Technologist will work closely with the Project Team and will be accountable for the following primary duties:   Provide regular reporting to the Project Manager on the progress of construction activities, including incidents, non-compliance issues, other concerns/issues, photos, etc.  Provide first line administration of construction contract(s), with an understanding of terms associated with liquidated damages, force majeure, delays by others or by the owner, deliverables, milestone dates, etc.  Ensure that the Contractors are in compliance with their contracts including Safety Plan, QA/QC Plan, CEMP, schedule, progress payments, etc.  Review reports by Environmental Monitor and ensure contractor is implementing recommendations and adhering to the contract. Ensure contractor is coordinating work activities with the Environmental Monitor.  Assist the Project Engineer for the review of drawings and specifications prior to IFC.  Assist the Project Manager to review potential extra work or changes to scope. Give approvals, as required. Ensure appropriate documentation is provided as support.  Provide site tours to Regulatory Agencies, Lenders’ Independent Engineer and other groups, as required.  Perform regular site walk-throughs with the contractor’s Project Manager to review progress, issues, schedule, budget, etc.  Be on site to witness certain tests (usually specified in contract) and sign off as a witness, as required.  Assist the Project Engineer to develop deficiency list and associated cost estimates, and oversee final document submission from contractor(s) for substantial and final completion.  Respect communication protocols with the contractor’s project management team.  Respect and follow the contractor’s safety program and ensure Owner’s visitors to site attend appropriate safety training sessions, and respect and follow the contractor’s safety program.  Perform additional assignments as requested by the Project Manager and the Project Engineer.
